Scrap card 2

Hello to you!

I'm sorry I haven't been around your blogs for a few days ... I hope to catch up soon
Life just get's in the way ... I'm busy painting furniture, covering the new dining chairs with fabric along with all the other things that somehow take my day.
Pat and I did get to spend some time together yesterday and we had fun ...

So here's another card made from bits and pieces left over

The feathers I made way before Christmas and never used them ... The embossed card that they are mounted on was a left over scrap when I was trying out heat embossing and sponging with inks

The only 'new' item is the little heart and I added a pearl just to the tip

I may add a sentiment later ... sometimes a card really doesn't need words on the outside

Before I go I would like to say Happy Birthday to a sweet friend
Wendy Sylvestre (Appleapricot blogspot)

Have a beautiful day my friend!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend ... I'll catch up with you later and I'll be back tomorrow for the new prompt at OBW

Take care

Scrap Cards

Hello ...
It's been a busy few weeks and I've so much to do in the house ... sewing and painting and sorting out my craft stuff eventually...
I'm trying to keep going all day to distract myself from this awful itch and the rash I'm enduring... I have an appointment at the hospital next week and I'm praying that they will find something to cure me...

The other night we had workmen here until late so I spent a couple of hours in my room and pulled out lots of scraps and made 4 cards ... I'll try and share one each day
But here's the first one proving you don't need much to get a pretty card

I love this card and it's only 2 little scraps of paper ... one that I had splattered gold paint on
The die cut 'you' I had in black and white ... I tend to cut a few at a time and keep them to hand ... So I layered them up to give a shadow effect

The "thank" die actually says "thanks" but I just cut off the "S"
The bling flower was left over from other projects and the pretty silver flower was from Ira
I'm sure my best cards all come from scraps Lol!

It's so very windy here and cold ... I hope you are all safe where you are

Thanks for looking in ... Till soon

City Crafter 246 and a Sad Goodbye

Hello and good morning!

It's my turn to host the challenge at City Crafter this week
The theme is
Cheers!

The challenge is to create a card or project that features any kind of drink - It can be tea, coffee a soft drink or even champagne!

I made this card for my husband's upcoming birthday in a few weeks ... He likes a glass of red wine

The image is a digital one that I printed onto card stock and covered in glossy accents ... I then worked my design around it stamping and embossing a PTI clock face and adding gold splatters and a die cut glossy cat ...

This week our GD is the talented Manuela ... I just adore her creativity ... Hop over to her blog and take a look at her wonderful projects...

We are sad to say goodbye to our lovely team friend Charlene ... Char was due to leave us shortly but owing to health issues her departure has been brought forward. It's been such a pleasure working with Char and we all wish her a speedy recovery and a happy future... I'm sure you would like to do the same

We hope you can join our challenge this week and look forward to seeing your projects

Have a wonderful day

Dance

Hello...

At Our Beautiful World this week Kirsty has picked the prompt
Dance

I wish I had some better photos to share with you ... Maybe a pretty ballerina ... or her satin shoes hanging from pale satin ribbons and a lovely story to go with it ... But I did find this photo of my husband being taught some moves on the dance floor at my late nephew Peter's wedding (hee hee)

He makes a better golfer than he does a dancer but he tries...

This is Peter and his bride Lana dancing ...

My brother (Peter's dad) never dances but he did this day ... holding hands with my late Mum too - she loved dancing

Do you remember dancing on your Daddy's feet? I do ... I have no photo to share but there is one locked in my head ... The dance ended all too soon ... Dances often do that - one minute you're all smiles and breathless and then the music stops

When I was 15 the pupils at my school put on a concert ... People my age will remember Top of the Pops and a dance group know as Pans People ... Well, in the concert I was one of them Lol!

I don't think school shirts were meant to be worn like that but I so wish my stomach was like that now!

I always had a secret wish to be a dancer ... I love dancing ... not that I do much now, but as a young girl my friends and I were out dancing every weekend and one week this guy asked me to dance with him

That slow dance led to a happy dance

... but eventually the music stopped and so did the dance

I guess we all dance through life one way or another... sometimes fast sometimes slow.. sometimes we just sit it out and wait for the next one ... It's never too late to dance and you're never too old

Sorry there were no pretty ballerina photos though...

Head on over to the Blog to see what the rest of the team has in store for you and link up with us this week at

Till soon

Birthday Balloons

Hello ...
I hope your weekend is off to a good start
We've got sunshine today and though it's cold - it's not as cold as it has been so that's a good start

Last Thursday I shared an anniversary card I made for a friend who also celebrates her birthday on the same day ...
Here's the Birthday card I made for her

I have to say it took me a while to come up with something ...

I delved into my box of left overs for inspiration and finally it came together ... What did I do before sequins hit the scene?
They just add a little something don't they

I'm still fighting this allergy and right now it doesn't look like I'm going to win anytime soon ... night time is the worst ... I wake up so hot and itching like mad ... What I wouldn't give for a good nights' sleep

Have a lovely weekend ... I'll be back tomorrow

Lovebirds

Hello!

It's been a busy week again - I've also been preparing a project for tonights Thursday Club in between seeing to the workmen and all the other jobs that seem to fall my way ... I thought retirement was supposed to be relaxing ... I guess a woman never retires huh?

One of my GF's celebrates her birthday and wedding anniversary this weekend
Here's the anniversary card I made her

A kind of mish mash of things here ... I'm still using up bits and pieces together with some embellishments I received as gifts
That lovely flower charm was one of a bunch my sweet friend Ira sent me

...and those cute lovebirds came from my friend Stella
Just a simple card I know, but I like it.....

A Christmas card arrived today from my lovely blog friend Rebecca - It was posted 9th December!! Not sure if the delay is down to the US mail service or Royal Mail - maybe both... but it was worth the wait - take a look

What a talented lady ... I love those colours

Well I'm freezing here so I'm off to get a hot drink ...

Have a lovely day / evening

New Home

Hi there!

How was your weekend? I hope you are staying warm ... it's very cold and icy here
I got to play a little yesterday ... Got out my Gelatos and made a few cards ... One is for my DH's brother and his wife ... they just moved down to Dorset

I'm using my new City Scape die again even though they've actually moved to the countryside Lol!

I used 2 different colour Gelatos mixing them with water and then I splattered both Picket Fence and Brushed Pewter distress paints over the top once the Gelatos were dry

The sentiment is computer generated and all the embellishments were from my left over box

I'm entering this at The Mixed Media Card Challenge where the theme is NEW

And leaving the best till last - I got another beautiful card in the mail today together with some chocolate!!

I love Lindt chocolate Thank you so much Manuela!!

Have yourselves a good day and thanks so much for looking in

Till soon

Like A Song

Happy Sunday!

Robyn has picked the new prompt for
This week she's asking that we post a photo that represents a song ... What a great idea!

I could have posted so many photos for this ... No prizes for guessing this first one

If you enlarge it you'll see that this is a sculpture of "Eleanor Rigby" here in my home town
And while I'm about it how about "In My Liverpool Home"

Then of course "Sailing"

I came across this and thought "Here Comes The Sun"

Then this ... "Little Donkey"

You see ... I could go on forever ... But my final one is this

"Kiss"

A BIG thank you to Robyn for this prompt ... I Love it!

I'm sure you can all find something that suits this week's prompt ... come link up at
and hop over to the blog to see what the rest of the team have come up with

Have a lovely day!

Have A Great Day

Hi there!

It's kinda crazy around here right now ... We are decorating the dining area and the kitchen and you girls know what it's like when your home is in disarray and you can't get to do the things you want in the kitchen
Still I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end ... My dining area will have something Pinterest inspired ... i.e. Faux panelling and I'm really hoping it comes together like I have envisaged it in my head ... My DH is trusting me on this one (gulp)

Whilst work was going on yesterday my friend Pat popped over and we had a little crafting time together ... Here's a card I made using one of my new Dies from Clearly Besotted a terrific online store from the UK ... the postage is low and the service is amazing ... my goods arrived the following day!

This is the skyline die which I love ... the butterfly is from Memory Box and the sentiment is from a Precious Remembrance set my lovely friend Sue Lelli sent me

The word die is by Simon Says ... quite a mixture but it all works don't you think?

The BG is Ombre Paper in Apricot by Pink Petticoat and I used a Spellbinders Frame Die to give a fancy edge to the CS

I was lucky enough to get money from my DH, my Brother and my GF's for my birthday and I've had fun buying new craft goods as well as a new little sewing machine from Ikea ...

I hope you have a beautiful weekend - I'll be back tomorrow for the new prompt at Our Beautiful World

Till soon be safe and thanks for looking in

Edit ... I'm linking this up to Darnell's NBUS challenge Here

Birthday Shaker

Hello!!

My, where did this week go? I can't believe it's Thursday already...

Ok, so I have another birthday card to share ... My husbands SIL had her birthday a couple of days before me so I made her a shaker card

I did a partial die cut using one of my circle dies to get that shape ... Just to make it a little different

I had to return to the doctor this week ... My 3rd visit for this skin rash ... it's been months now and they are baffled ... I have more medication and failing that I will have to have biopsies done ...
I had to laugh though ... My GP called in another GP to see if she could offer any further advice and she mention that I may be light sensitive or sun sensitive ... I mean here we hardly see the sun this time of year and the skies are often grey and given that the rashes are in places normally covered - I can assure everyone that I have not been streaking Lol!!

I hope you are staying warm wherever you are ... we are expecting severe storms again ... I'm really looking forward to Spring and even though it's mid January we have beautiful Daffodils coming up everywhere ... Some are in full bloom!

Thanks so much for stopping by

Hugs

City Crafter 244

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

It's time for a new challenge over at City Crafter and this week we have the lovely Stella hosting for us with a Winter White challenge

Stella is asking that we make a card or project that is mainly white with some touches of neutral or pastel shades

Here's what I came up with

I made this weeks ago and looking at it now it is so like the sympathy card I did recently ... Oh well,

I guess it shows the versatility of those dies
The pastel paper I used is from a Christmas pad I had last year ...

... and though I dread having to do mainly white I am really please with how this turned out

Our team have some more projects up on the City Crafter Blog to inspire you and this week our Guest Designer is the talented Deepti!
Click on her name to go across to her blog and be inspired by her fabulous creations ...

We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week ...

Thanks so much for stopping by - Have a great day!
