Clear & Sheer

Hi there ...

I decided to join in with the Sheer & Clear card class (a little late but no worries) ... I don't use vellum enough and also I thought watching a few classes would kick start my mojo ...Anyways, it's day 4 today and so far I only done 1 card - from day 1 Lol!
Attaching vellum

I just played around with some things that were on my desk after Pat came to play - Some very old paper that I have been hoarding from Basic Grey, a piece of vellum, a stamp and some die cuts

I used some tape and glue behind the leaves, the 'hugs' and the gem stones to secure my vellum - I couldn't decide if I like the paper behind the vellum or not so I went with a design that gives both

See that hugs die? Well I cut a few when I first got the die and promptly lost the die after that, never to be seen again...sigh
I've searched everywhere, under the cupboards and drawers, tipped out my bin 3 times and checked every packet of dies ... It's just vanished! Oh well, at least I made a card...

Till soon

OH WOW! This is just GORGEOUS Ros! I love how you did both the design paper and the white panel in the background ... just gives it that extra 'artsy' touch! What a wonderful design and I can't get over how beautiful! I too have a ton of vellum I never think to use ... you've inspired me to get creative with it! Sorry you lost your 'hugs' ... that's just sad! Sure glad you die cut a few when you first received it! FABULOUS creation as always my friend! Here's some HUGS from Ohio for you!! LOL

Stunner! That paper is gorgeous, just love the colours and the artsy design on it. Your layout is fabulous with leaving some of the paper on and some off behind he vellum...works really well. The design, colours, die cut and white embossing on the vellum is amazing. Hope you've cut lots of the Hugs die (before you lost it) as it's perfect in the front of this stand out card. If I could think of any more fabulous words to use...I would!! Stunning card, love everything about it x PS I've lost my 'h' this week which I'm mad about as so many words need that letter!

Beautiful and very serene with a nature feel! Love the vellum and wonderful design, Ros! Sorry to hear about you losing the die. I hope it turns up for you soon! I just lost a stamp recently, which was only used once...so frustrating! Take care!

Awesome card Ros!! Love the embossing on the vellum and the nice dp and leaves :) I have lost dies before, one time it was on its side up against the side of a box just a about invisible!! Hope you find it soon :)

This looks so beautiful with the white embossing on vellum and the dies overlaying. Love the paper behind it. Such soft colors, and your shading on the leaf die cut. That hugs die will probably show up when you're not looking for it. Happened to me with a stamp set once. Turned up in a cardstock hanging file.

Every time I see one of your cards I want to recreate it. This is no exception. Perfect use of the vellum. Fabulous card.

Beautiful card! I lost my die all the time, I still can't figure out where they went, I thought they would appear someday when I was unexpected but so far, no good news yet! : (

Hi Ros if you still have one of the die cuts you can trace it in your silhouette and resize it for each project. I hate it when I lose a die but the state my craft room is in.....Anyways onto your card which is fab, love the the paper both ways gives a great effect and the embossing of the vellum is gorgeous.

Oh no!! Did it somehow go home with Pat from one of her visits? My hairdresser told me the story of keys somehow ending up in someone else's purse & took month's & a very circuitous route to get back to the owner! Onto your card--this is just playing?! If only I could come up with such a masterpiece when I'm feeling inspired--LOVE everything about this beauty, Ros!

I can only stare :) I love how you designed this card. The layers, use of vellum , heat enbossing and the beautiful coloured leaf die cut. A fab example of your talents!
Big hugs!

My turn to browse your blog ;) Your creations for this class are all stunning! This one is my favourite (but only just, it was a hard choice). I love how the vellum and the pp overlap, the white embossing, the softly coloured diecut leaves. Everything. Pinning.
Love the look of Our Beautiful World too - hoping to play along :)

It looks beautiful! I like that you did it half and half. It adds interest. I've lost a couple of dies like that. I think they grow legs when we're not looking. LOL
