Double D Challenge

Hello again...

I'm back to share a project I made for the new challenge at
Where Darlene's team are hosting a challenge to use a Silhouette(s)

I've wanted to re-create a project that I made ages ago and framed. Over the years it has faded - it had  a sentimental meaning to me - You can see the original post and picture here
Here's my remake

I've yet to frame it and maybe I will add some shells and things to the frame

I used the new Distress Oxides to sponge this and I'm not sure if I agree that they blend more easily but they certainly react with water in a different way... you can create splashes in the sea water and dab off for clouds.

The images are stamped and the trees were cut on the Cameo... For the computer generated sentiment I used a piece of printable acetate...

Head on over to the Double D Blog to see what both Darlene and Diane's team have created and once again there is a lovely prize on offer

Have a lovely day

Beautiful sponged beach and ocean! I adore those palm tree silhouettes, they always make me happy! So many wonderful memories holding my daughter's hand scouring the beach for treasures! Love your original post and creation too! What a fabulous piece of ART!

Your silhouette project is so eye catching. The black against the soft background colours is fabulous. Still haven't bought any oxides yet...still thinking x Maybe you'll re-post this once it is in a frame etc? Would love to admire it...Again! x

Oh. My. Word. I think this is so beautiful! Then I got all enchanted by the beauty and meaning of your original project and almost forgot to come back here. I'm so glad you resurrected the concept. Nobody does beach like you. It will look so lovely framed and with some of the netting and seashells. I haven't tried the oxide inks. I do love the water splashes you created.

Just gorgeous, Ros. I took a peek at your shadow box too. It is funny though theyhave the same stamp they have a different feel. The bold palm tree on this one makes it feel more casual paired with the sentiment while the shadow box is more formal and thought provoking. Love them both. Perfect stamp and sentiment for this challenge.

This is every bit as gorgeous as your original from a few years ago, Ros! I love the beach, too, and all the memories of being on the beach with our wee lad over the years, splashing in the waves and collecting sand dollars and bits of amber glass. Thank you for evoking memories for me, too, with your beautiful art! Hugs, Darnell

This is really beautiful . Gorgeous beach colours.

I have that stamp and I like that the silhouettes of both adult and child could be either female or male. (Are they wearing skirts or shorts?). The image has always reminded me of photos of my partner and son walking on the beach.

I'm interested to see you use Oxide inks - I've jut succumbed and ordered a few.

I love the beach card, Ros,I don't know anyone who would not like this or have memories of going to the beach. Such a beautiful and serene scene! Wishing I were at the beach this week....this year has been crazy...it has seemed like summer for the past month even with a little rain. Have a good Friday!

It's always a lovely to look at one of your beach scenes. I also took a look at the link of your previous beach post (in 2013) I think this is just as stunning. You're a pro when it comes to blending and sponging with ink. You also bought some Oxide inks? Me too!
Have a lovely evening!

Ros, this wonderful card really touches a special place in my heaert. I love the way you created the sand, sea and sky. The large palm tree sihlouettes look awesome with the others in the distance. I adore that sentiment. Where is it from? I need it. Thanks for sharing this wonderful creation... Stephanie. slan.zal@verizon.net
