Starry Card

Hi there...

This is such a busy week... We have appointments everyday, sometimes more than one!

In between I'm getting ahead on my club projects and there are frogs everywhere... Not real ones I have to say... I've prepared frog slider cards and a happy little frog made from a plant pot too. Anyway, I thought I'd take a little break from those guys and post a card I made last week which I'm saving for my brother's birthday next month...

This is the first time I've used this stamp set from Hunkydory and it was just a matter of ink blending with stamping and embossing

I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of printed wood effect CS and embossed it in my gold and silver mix, however it really didn't show up very well so I placed it back into my Misti and stamped again with black Versafine and I loved the result. It created a shadow effect that looks like the words are burnt into the wood...

Since I last posted we have had rain, rain rain... The cats are miserable and I can't say I blame them but on the upside, my back is so much better and I feel great!

Have yourselves a lovely day

Yey to your back feeling better Ros x....Sorry about the rain...our end too! Gorgeous blending and love the tone of the blue on your wonderful card. The stamp looks great embossed against the blue and what a wonderfully happy accident with the stamping on the 'wood' and yes it does look like it has burnt into the wood x

Hi Ros, wow you've made a beautiful card for your brother. I love the starry background in combination with the die-cut stars. Your sentiment on the "wood panel" looks stunning this way.
Greetings Miranda

Though I do love that card, I have to say the best bit of news in that post is that you're feeling great! I'm so happy for you! And the rain will be gone... (says the German who just had a 30° weekend...)

Really?! I'm thrilled you're feeling good & hope it continues, my sweet friend! Your card is so unique & beautiful--just love the combination of stamps & die cuts! Your sentiment really did turn out neat--does look burnt into the wood! Sending sun--while we have it--haha! Rain is coming here, too, but only for a few days.

Your brother will feel like a STAR, Ros! This is so blue and bold and awesomely detailed! I love the tip about restamping in black over the embossing! It totally looks like it was branded into wood! And I love to hear that your back is feeling better! Prayers that it stays the course!! Hugs, Darnell

Glad to hear that your back is much better, Ros!
The soft blue background is so pretty, and the dimensional stars and overlapping stamping add so much interest. I love the shadow-effect of the sentiment! Hideko xx

Leave it to you to make the most interesting and unusual starry galaxy card. Outstanding for a guy and your brother will be much appreciative. I'm super impressed with the effect of your double-embossed sentiment. It surely does look like it's burned into the wood! After our few days of sunshine we're back to rain again, too. Still, it looks prettier than winter rain now that we have all the green and the flowers blooming. Sorry it took me so long to get here. Doing catch up after being away for a few days. Fantastic news that your back is so much better! That news just made my day!
